  • Understanding academic burnout: A systematic literature review of its risk and protective factors

    In the contemporary educational landscape, academic burnout (exhaustion, inadequacy, and cynicism) has emerged as an urgent psychological and educational issue that threatens various educational outcomes and academic adjustment. Understanding the risk and protective factors of burnout is also essential for developing effective strategies and more targeted interventions to prevent psychological exhaustion and promote well-being, particularly in academic and professional settings. The systematic literature review aims to synthesize the key risk and protective factors associated with burnout, drawing on evidence from diverse populations and contexts. Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search of databases was conducted up to July 2025 and identified a total of 1744 citations of which 50 studies were included in the qualitative analysis. The review identifies a range of interrelated risk factors—spanning academic, psychological, personal, social, and structural domains—highlighting that academic burnout among students is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Thus, protection against burnout requires a holistic approach that includes strengthening individual character, strong social support, developing adaptive learning and coping strategies, and providing a healthy academic environment. This review seeks to inform the design of targeted interventions and guide policymakers, educators, and institutional stakeholders in mitigating burnout and fostering resilience.
  • The Map Media Development of Changes to the Musi River Border in Palembang

    This study aims to produce a map of the Musi River border changes in Palembang which is worthy of learning geography in hydrology courses. The method used in this research is a development research method by adopting the Alessi and Trolip development model which consists of planning, design, and development stages. The data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the results of the analysis of the map of the development of the media for changing the boundaries of the Musi Palembang river, it shows that the product developed is very worthy for learning after going through the alpha test, both the analysis results of the validator from media experts and material experts. Meanwhile, the beta test phase and product field trials are worthy to use for students of geography education.
  • Perceptions of Pedagogy Lecturers and Students Regarding the Manifestation of Local Wisdom Values

    In the realm of education local wisdom has gained recognition as a foundational element for both individual and community growth. This study examines the shared perceptions of local wisdom values among lecturers and pedagogy students in Indonesia, aiming to understand the extent of their consensus and its potential influence on teaching practices. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, utilizing a purposive sampling technique that includes 120 students and 10 lecturers. Data collection is conducted primarily through a questionnaire-based survey, with the gathered information subjected to thorough mathematical and statistical analysis. Both descriptive and inferential statistical methods are applied to uncover significant insights. The findings indicate that most students (77.2%) and lecturers (80%) agree on the substantial role of local wisdom values in fostering unity amidst diversity. However, there are perceptual differences influenced by variables such as age, educational background, and life experiences. The study suggests that educational stakeholders should consider these diverse perspectives in curriculum development and teaching methodologies. Despite its limitations, research paves the way for further exploration into the interpretation of local wisdom values in pedagogical practices and their impact on student learning outcomes, as well as their contribution to sustainable development and culturally responsive education policies.
  • Improvement of students' soft skills (honesty and motivation) using edmodo by Blended Learning Method

    Edmodo is a website that can be applied in learning as an effort to improve student soft skills using Edmodo based on blended learning, combining direct learning and online learning. The formulation of the problem in this study is how is the effort to improve student soft skills using Edmodo based on blended learning? This study aims to improve student soft skills using Edmodo based on blended learning at the PGRI University in Palembang. The method used in this research is classroom action research. This method is based on a cycle with stages: planning, action, observation, reflection. Data collection techniques in this study are observation and questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that student soft skills using Edmodo based on blended learning increase after implementing learning and achieve a minimum completeness of more than 80% at the second meeting in the second cycle. in the aspect of student discipline increased by 87.4% from 67.5%; student honesty increased by 85% from 72.8%; Student motivation increased 85.4% from 71.7%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Edmodo based on blended learning method can improve the soft skills of geography education students.
