After many years of ministry as a trained clergyman in the Catholic Church, he graduated from Trinity College Dublin with higher degrees in international peace studies and embraced the teaching profession. Currently, Dr J.M.K. Mbombo is Senior Lecturer in the postgraduate programme of the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. He has participated actively in several workshops and conferences locally and internationally with papers that are now published in reputable journals around the world. His research interests include Liberal Peacebuilding, Conflicts in the great lakes region of Africa, United Nations Organisation, Sustainable Development Goals, among others. A member of many societies, he is also a founder/ president of Peace People Network, a Nigerian-based NGO, that promotes alternative model of peace through words and deeds.
