Enhancing IoT-Enabled Electric Vehicle Battery Performance Monitoring and Prediction using AI Techniques Mummadi Durga Bhavani, K. Kalyan Kumar 2025 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Green Industrial Electronics and Sustainable Technologies Giest 2025, 2025 The rapid adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) has intensified the need for efficient battery monitoring and predictive maintenance to ensure safety, longevity, and optimal performance. This study presents an advanced framework integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Internet of Things (IoT) technology to monitor and predict EV battery health in real time. The IoT-based system employs state-of-the-art sensors to collect key battery parameters, including temperature, voltage, current, and charge cycles. Data is analyzed using AI models such as Machine Learning and deep learning algorithms to detect anomalies, forecast degradation, and optimize energy management. The proposed approach achieves high predictive accuracy, with metrics Mean Absolute Error (MAE: 0.0790), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE: 0.1040), and $\mathbf{R}^{2}$ score (0.9900). This enables early fault detection, reduces maintenance costs, and extends battery life, while improving thermal management and charging efficiency. The results demonstrate that combining IoT data acquisition with AI analytics offers a robust, data-driven solution for proactive EV battery management, enhancing efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in modern transport systems.
Application of Modified Flow Direction Algorithm for Network Reconfiguration with Distributed Generator Installation K. Kalyan Kumar, G. Nageswara Reddy Journal of Engineering Science and Technology Review, 2024 This article used an improved version of the Flow Direction Algorithm (FDA) with acceleration coefficients named Modified Flow Direction Algorithm (MFDA) for simultaneous Optimal Network Reconfiguration (ONR) and Optimal Distribution Generation's (ODG) installation to reduce the Active Power Losses (APL), maximize the Voltage Profile (VP) and stability of the Distribution System (DS).FDA is motivated by the simulation of the direction of water flow into a drainage basin at a lower elevation area. The neighboring flow and its slope also affect the direction of the water flow; its slope was obtained using the D8 method.FDA has a low convergence rate, stuck with local optima. This article proposed acceleration coefficients to acquire the proper balance between exploration and exploitation, accelerate the global convergence rate, and avoid getting stuck with local optima. The efficiency of the MFDA is evaluated based on its performance on 16 standard benchmark functions and is also used to solve the simultaneous ONR and ODG installation. Two DSs consisting of 33 and 69 bus test systems are considered to solve the problem. There are three methodologies to reduce the APL and maximize the VP and stability: ONR, ODG, and simultaneous ONR and ODG installation. This article uses four case studies with different load levels to show the proposed method's reliability. The analysis shows a better way to minimize the power loss by solving simultaneous ONR and ODG installation rather than only optimizing reconfiguration or installation of DG.It has been discovered that the results achieved are superior to those produced using the ISCA, FWA, HSA, etc. So, the MFDA shown can be a potentially useful way to solve 16 standard benchmark functions and simultaneous ONR and ODG installation.

Off-Policy Reinforcement based on a Safe Model Eco-Driving Education for Fully-Automated, Connected Hybrid Vehicles Soumitra S Pande, Neeraja B, K Kalyan Kumar, Singarapu Sathish, Lakkakula Mounika, Jyoti Prasad Patra Proceedings of the 2023 2nd International Conference on Electronics and Renewable Systems Icears 2023, 2023 Eco-driving reduces gas use. Eco-driving improves driving behavior and fuel economy without hardware modifications. Eco-driving strategies exist. Speed control is difficult in many driving conditions. This research develops an eco-driving approach to reduce car emissions in a variety of scenarios. DRL has helped eco-driving reduce fuel usage and travel time. Data-driven reinforcement learning can improve autonomous electric car speed planning. Eco-driving strategy reinforcement learning prototype. Three enhancements are offered. Off-policy learning and physics-based models improve sample efficiency. Second, constraint fulfillment can be achieved without externally rewarding proper behavior during training. Third, deep generative techniques to mimic a safe set ensure the route is possible. The reinforcement learning method can optimize car speed based on highway gradient and vehicle distance. Reinforcement learning outperforms evolutionary algorithms nearly perfectly.

Analysis of Microgrid System with Photovoltaic Array K. Ramamohan Reddy, N. Siddhik, A. Jyothirmayi, K. Kalyan Kumar Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 As the modern power system is advancing, new challenges are coming in to picture. The micro-grid concept along with renewable energy PV systems is emerging as a key factor for the long-term doable solution for future energy sector requirements. Micro-grid can have distributed energy resources like PV panels, wind turbines, Geothermal Tidal energy & power generators that produce power. Controlling and protection are the main problems that need to be handled in microgrid operation. Microgrids need to provide multiple end user needs simultaneously. For example, electricity generation, heating and cooling. This paper accords with the analysis of a Microgrid system connected with a PhotoVoltaic array.
Power quality improvements in grid connected PV system using novel optimization technique , K. Kalyan Kumar*, T. Kishore Kumar, , N. Siddhik, and International Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering, 2019 In the last few years, several concepts have been developed in the field of Power Quality (PQ) improvements. Features of PQ plays a significant part in power system based applications. Nowadays, technologies in Renewable Energy Source (RES) have got more opportunities for promoting Photo-Voltaic (PV) for generating electric power. It may affect the reliability and stability of entire power system, also produces the switching frequency with irregular manner and variation within the certain region. Also, Incremental-Conductance (IC) method miserably fails to recognize Global Maximum Power Point (MPP) and gets trapped in one of the Local MPP. Since the conventional MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) might not separate the maximum power of the P-V characteristic curve, a novel tracking system needs to be established. In this research work, Kinetic Gas Molecular Optimization (KGMO) is implemented with IC for improving the PQ by providing the adequate switching pulse to inverter for enhancing the system performance. The proposed method reduced the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) up to 4.67 %, and the efficiency is observed by evaluation over the traditional Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) and IC-MPPT techniques. The proposed method is implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink software to analyze the performance of PQ issues.
