    Facial Recognition technology analyzes and maps the unique features of a person's face to verify their identity. However, the performance of most of the existing methods relies on high-quality images and requires advanced image denoising to remove the noise, causing prediction errors in recognition systems. Hence, this research proposes the Inception V3-based Transfer Learning enabled Deep Convolutional Neural Network with Multi-Attention Mechanism (IV3TL-DCNN-MA) to achieve effective facial recognition. Specifically, the proposed method exploits the Upgraded Illumination Map-enabled Dilated U-shaped Denoising Convolution Network with Predator-Prey-Hunter Optimization (UIM-DUDnCNN-PPHO) method for producing the denoised image, while preserving fine details, which, in turn, contributes to enhancing the facial recognition. Besides, the features extracted using Deep Statistical Multi-Weighted Hyperbolic (DSMH) enhance the facial recognition. Experimental validation demonstrates that the proposed model outperforms the other existing methods by achieving a high accuracy value of 97.24% on the Casia webface dataset, and 98.08% on the Face recognition dataset.
  • MECC-E2CDS: Secure e-voting system using modified elliptic curve cryptography-based elgamal elliptic curve digital signature

    Electronic voting (e-voting) is becoming progressively popular due to its unique ability to cast votes from any place and anywhere. Conventional voting systems are time-consuming, non-remote, and less secure. Hence, various types of e-voting schemes have been introduced to overcome the issues of traditional voting systems; however, they have faced several concerns over privacy, legitimacy, security, and transparency. This research proposed a Modified Elliptic Curve Cryptography-based Elgamal Elliptic Curve Digital Signature (MECC-E 2 CDS) algorithm for a secure e-voting system at the university level, which tackles the constraints of existing methods. The proposed MECC-E 2 CDS algorithm is integrated using Modified Elliptic Curve Cryptography (MECC) and Elgamal Elliptic Curve Digital Signature (E 2 CDS) algorithm, which offers a higher level of security by performing both encryption and signature generation to encrypt the generated vote. Moreover, these algorithms ensure fairness and enable long-term security during the voting process. Additionally, the MECC-E 2 CDS algorithm uses a Blockchain InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) mechanism to store the encrypted e-vote and biometric data securely. The proposed MECC-E 2 CDS algorithm achieves superior results, and the values obtained for blockchain gas usage, blockchain transaction time, decryption time, encryption time, genuine user ratio, and memory usage are 116.36, 0.0596, 0.00045, 0.000444, 93.26[Formula: see text]ms, and 10.14[Formula: see text]kb, respectively.

    Deepfake technology has advanced significantly, leading to the creation of highly realistic yet artificially manipulated media. The rapid advancement of generative adversarial networks (GANs) and specialized deep learning techniques, including InceptionV3, XceptionNet, and EfficientNet, has further complicated the detection of deepfakes, necessitating the development of robust detection mechanisms. Datasets such as ASVspoof 2019, FaceForensics++, Celeb-DF, and the DeepFake Detection Challenge (DFDC) have significantly contributed to research by providing diverse benchmarks for training and evaluation. Detection methods span feature extraction, temporal consistency analysis, multi-modal learning, and adversarial training. Feature extraction-based approaches leverage CNNs to identify spatial artifacts, while temporal analysis captures inconsistencies in motion or lip synchronization. Multi-modal learning integrates audio and visual features to improve detection accuracy. After extensive testing and evaluation, our findings indicate that among the numerous models and datasets analyzed, InceptionV3 consistently outperforms others in identifying spatial anomalies in deepfake content. Similarly, DFDC emerges as the most comprehensive dataset for video deepfake detection, while ASVspoof 2019 remains unmatched for audio deepfake detection. These insights highlight critical tools for advancing the fight against deepfake threats and guiding future innovations in detection systems.
  • Incremental Context Distillation: A Tiered Memory Architecture for Efficient, Long-Context Conversational AI

    State-of-the-art conversational agents built on Large Language Models (LLMs) are constrained by finite context windows and escalating computational costs. As dialogues lengthen, the naive approach of including the entire conversational history with each turn leads to prohibitive latency and API expenses, while simple truncation results in a significant loss of conversational coherence. To address this challenge, we propose Incremental Context Distillation (ICD), a novel memory management architecture for LLMs. ICD utilizes a tiered system comprising a volatile Short-Term Memory (STM) and a persistent, hierarchically compressed Long-Term Memory (LTM). The system periodically distills conversational turns from the STM into concise summaries, which are then integrated into the LTM. The LTM itself undergoes recursive compression to maintain a bounded token footprint. Our experiments, conducted over simulated 50-turn dialogues, demonstrate that ICD reduces the total token load by an average of 78% and API costs by 72% compared to a full-context baseline, while incurring only a negligible 4% reduction in human-rated coherence scores. This work presents a practical and effective solution for enabling long, coherent, and cost-efficient conversations with modern LLMs.
  • Innovative IoT System and Machine Learning Approach for Predictive Maintenance Identification in Industrial Machines

    This research aims to develop a system for maintaining optimal relative humidity (RH) and temperature within a room environment using an air conditioning (AC) unit. The proposed system integrates temperature and relative humidity sensors to continuously monitor the environmental conditions, while a central control unit regulates the AC operation based on realtime sensor readings. The experimental setup consists of the sensors, AC unit, and control unit, and a series of experiments are conducted to evaluate 428 the system’s effectiveness. The obtained results demonstrate the system’s ability to achieve and maintain the desired conditions. The temperature readings remain within a comfortable range, while the relative humidity levels are well-controlled. The AC operation consistently adjusts to cooling mode, actively regulating the room’s temperature and humidity. The proposed system offers various applications, including maintaining comfortable indoor environments, preserving sensitive equipment, or controlling specific processes requiring precise RH and temperature control. Additionally, it has the potential for energy savings by adapting the AC operation based on real-time conditions, minimizing unnecessary energy consumption. In conclusion, this research presents a system that effectively regulates RH and temperature in a room environment, contributing to the development of smart systems for optimal environmental control, enhancing user comfort, and promoting energy efficiency.
