Systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis of pipeline monitoring and leakage detection techniques Adamu Abubakar, Opeyemi Aderiike Abisoye, Isiaq Oludare Alabi, Adepoju Solomon, Ishaq Oyebisi Oyefolahan Discover Mechanical Engineering, 2025 Liquids such as water, chemicals, oil, and gas are mostly transported via pipelines worldwide. It is considered one of the fastest, cheapest, and most reliable methods of transporting oil and gas. One of the major threats to this form of transportation of liquids is leakage due to vandalism or deterioration causing economic loss, environmental damages, and loss of lives and properties. To mitigate these threats, several techniques have been proposed. This systematic review analysed the various principles and approaches of pipeline leakage detection and monitoring. Furthermore, relevant standard, taxonomy of different methods of monitoring, and leakage detection of oil and gas in pipelines were discussed; their merits, performance and limitations were also discussed. Kitchenham literature search strategy was adopted to search relevant academic databases using various principles of inclusion and exclusion criteria to filter unaligned articles. It was found that integrating two or more techniques enhances the efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of detecting and monitoring leakages in pipeline. Finally, this review concludes by outlining potential ways for future researchers based on the limitations and findings of the reviewed articles.
Landmark-Aware Heterogeneous Graph Framework for Multi-Source Road Crash Data Integration in Nigeria Emmanuel Ogbonnia O, O. A. Ojerinde, E. F. Aminu, Isiaq Olúdáre Alabi, S. A. Adepoju Nipes Journal of Science and Technology Research, 2025 Proper forecasting of road crash in developing nations requires holistic, contextually relevant information that characterises complex spatial-temporal relationships. This paper presents a novel data collection and integration paradigm that was developed to address the most serious gaps in the studies on road safety in Nigeria. Using both Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) crash records and OpenStreetMap (OSM) geospatial data, a heterogeneous graph model of 559,622 road nodes and 81,986 amenity nodes in 37 administrative regions is built. The approach uses the Haversine-based proximity calculations and Gaussian radial basis functions to enrich the structure that provides a geocoding success rate of 93.7% and a 100.0% weather data enrichment in 104,672 crash records. The framework also builds landmark aware graph construction, where road infrastructure properties (type, speed limit, surface) are combined with contextual amenities (hospitals, schools, markets) by relation specific edges. Findings indicate high levels of completeness of data (95-100 percent core attributes) and effective implementation in a Neo4j graph system architecture. This paper provides a basis of context-specific Graph Neural Network (GNN) models to match the local infrastructural and traffic peculiarities of developing countries, thus overcoming the constraints of Western-oriented datasets.
Piracy in Perspective: Exploring Drivers of Digital Piracy Intention in Nigeria Oluwafemi Osho, Victor Yisa, Polra Victor Falade, Augustine Yusuf, Solomon Adepoju, Rita Orji Proceedings of the 5th Biennial African Human Computer Interaction Conference Africhi 2025, 2025 Given the global proliferation of digital piracy and its persistence despite legal and technological measures, our research addresses the gap in understanding how psychological, behavioral, ethical factors influence digital piracy behavior in a non-WEIRD context, specifically in Nigeria. Using an integrated model approach, this study examines the factors that influence intention to engage in digital piracy. Data was collected from 276 participants via online and paper-based surveys and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings show that moral obligation decreases piracy intention, while favorable attitudes and perceived benefits increase it. The effects of perceived equitable relationship and legal deterrence are fully mediated by attitude. These insights are crucial for developing more effective anti-piracy strategies tailored to the specific context of non-WEIRD countries.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Detection using Support Vector Machine. Ayobami Ekundayo, Enesi Femi Aminu, Oluwaseun Adeniyi Ojerinde, John Kolo Alhassan, Solomon Adelowo Nipes Journal of Science and Technology Research, 2025 There is a growing interest in using machine learning to develop a model for detecting PCOS. Given that the condition usually affects women of reproductive age and causes infertility, this development is understandable. This study explores the effectiveness of Support Vector Machine (SVM) in detecting Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. The enhanced red deer algorithm (eRDA) was used for selecting the best features from the PCOS dataset obtained from Kaggle repository. The dataset from the kaggle repository was balanced using the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). The Min-Max scaling technique was employed as the data balancing technique. The study tested five SVM models based on random state, kernel, and maximum iteration parameters to determine their viability. The kernel type of SVM employed in this study is: radial basis function, sigmoid, and poly. Model 4 of the SVM achieved 85% accuracy at random state 45, with a poly kernel, and maximum iteration of -1.
A Survey of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making in e-Banking Websites Quality Evaluation Solomon Adelowo Adepoju, John Kolo Alhassan, Oluwaseun Adeniyi Ojerinde, Christy Dayida Shaba Asia Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia, 2024 Electronic banking grants users access to banking services virtually and offers convenience, ease of use, low cost, time saving, fast delivery and online bill payment. These services are mostly provided through websites; hence evalution of its quality and services are very important. Website quality evaluation entails numerous dimensions and attributes and the processes which are critical as well as complex requires quality, accuracy and objectivity. This paper surveys the criteria and methodologies that have been used over years in e-banking websites quality as well as e-services quality evaluation. The survey covers articles within a five-year period from 2018 – 2022 which mostly focus on e-banking websites quality evaluation. Twenty-three articles which met the inclusion and exclusion criterai set by the authors are used for the study. Results show that the everage number of crtieria used in most studies are six with security, privacy and ease-of-use taking the lead as the mostly used criteris across different studies. Also, various types of multi-criteria decision-making model were used by diffferent and there is none that is dominant among them. It was observed that fuzzy type of the various types of multi-criteria decision-making models are mostly used in many studies. In general, studies with focus on e-banking websites quality are not yet given much attention in the literature.

Consensus Based Bank Loan Prediction Model Using Aggregated Decision Making and Cross Fold Validation Techniques Ibrahim Hadiza Ndanusa, Solomon Adelowo Adepoju, Adeniyi Oluwaseun Ojerinde Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Information Technology for Education and Development Changing the Narratives Through Building A Secure Society with Disruptive Technologies Ited 2022, 2022 Considering the growth of the credit businesses, machine learning models for granting loan permissions with the minimum amount of risk are becoming increasingly popular among banking sectors. Machine Learning based models has proven to be useful in resolving a variety of banking risk prediction issues. ML Predictions are sometimes unfair and biased because they are heavily dependent on randomly selected training data sample for every prediction made. However, this problem can be address by utilizing a cross-validation strategy. Prediction can be improved by combining decisions from different machine learning algorithms (ensemble decision making). The proposed consensus-based prediction model is evaluated using standard performance metrics, and the proposed model achieved an accuracy of 83 percent.
A Survey of Digital Watermarking Techniques for Data Protection in Cloud Computing Abbas Nna Halima, Mohammed Danlami Abdulmalik, Solomon Adelowo Adepoju, Enesi Femi Aminu Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Information Technology for Education and Development Changing the Narratives Through Building A Secure Society with Disruptive Technologies Ited 2022, 2022 Recently digital watermarking techniques played an essential role in protecting and authenticating the copyright of multimedia content in a cloud. Based on the literature, there are several digital watermarking techniques used for data protection in cloud computing. However, each of these techniques has its own limitations such as high levels of piracy, theft, and unauthorized distribution of multimedia content. This Survey employs a content-based analysis approach to investigate the watermarking techniques that are more secure, imperceptible, and robust against various kinds of multimedia attacks. The survey shows that the hybridization of watermarking techniques and feature descriptors is more efficient in comparison to a single watermarking technique. This research work concludes that the hybridization technique and use of descriptors are more secure.
