Indian Journal of Information Sources and Services, 2025
The application of mobile computing to deliver psychosocial support in oncopatology presents a high-stakes domain where system dependability—encompassing security, privacy, reliability, and usability—is paramount. This study analyzes the technical architecture and dependability attributes of existing mobile health (mHealth) applications designed for managing anxiety and depression for patients across the cancer care continuum. The objective is to synthesize current technical approaches and propose a conceptual framework for architecting future systems that are demonstrably secure, private, and usable. The methodology involves a systematic review of technical and clinical literature, focusing on application architectures, security protocols, privacy-preserving mechanisms, and user engagement models. Results indicate a significant gap between the clinical goals of many applications and the implementation of robust dependability features. Common weaknesses identified include inadequate data encryption, ambiguous privacy policies, and poor user interface design, which contribute to high user attrition and potential security risks. This study concludes by proposing a "Dependability-by-Design" framework for mHealth in oncopatology. This framework prioritizes a secure software development lifecycle, privacy-enhancing technologies, and principles of user-centered design to improve system trustworthiness and sustained engagement, offering a guide for developing more effective and dependable mobile computing solutions for this critical healthcare domain.

Lidiia V. Butska, Hanna B. Varina, Natalia M. Falko
    Polski Merkuriusz Lekarski, 2025
Aim: To evaluate emotional burnout, anxiety, and depression in men with chronic pain undergoing rehabilitation during wartime in Ukraine, with attention to age and pain duration. Materials and Methods: The study included 35 male military personnel aged 25-60 years, undergoing inpatient rehabilitation at the State Institution «Veteran Mental Health and Rehabilitation Center «Forest Glade» Ministry of Health of Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine) (January-May 2025). The mean age was 43±10 years; average pain duration was 23±17 months. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and clinical interviews. Standardized instruments included the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Results: Most participants exhibited moderate-to-high levels of emotional exhaustion (88,6%), depersonalization (80%), and reduced personal accomplishment (85,7%) (by MBI). More than 70% showed moderate-to-high levels of both state and trait anxiety (by STAI). Сlose to half of patients (48,6%) demonstrated borderline or abnormal depression patterns. Participants with pain lasting over 12 months showed significantly higher anxiety score, with 78,9% experiencing clinically relevant anxiety versus 37,5% in the short-term (3-12 months) group (p=0,018). Strong (or close to strong) correlations were identified between burnout, anxiety, and depression subscales (ρ=0,68-0,89; p<0,001 [n=35]). Conclusions: Chronic pain in wartime conditions is linked to severe psychological distress. Extended pain duration increases anxiety. The strong interplay between burnout and affective symptoms underscores the need for integrative, multidisciplinary rehabilitation tailored to psychological needs.

Introduction. The article presents the results of research on the need to master and implement the basics of psychological support, prevention of burnout, self-help and mutual help in the practice of medical workers (MP). The principles and algorithms and features of their presentation for doctors and students of medical institutions of psychological skills and knowledge in war conditions are described.Aim. To determine the peculiarities of the algorithms of psychological education (PE) and support (PS) of workers of various medical professions during a full-scale invasion.Materials and methods. More than 100 literary sources were analyzed, among which 33 that most correspond to the topic of the study were selected, a questionnaire was developed in Google form, 75 respondents participated in the survey (medical and non-medical workers, medical and non-medical students, patients who were under medical supervision during the period of full-scale military operations in Ukraine), a comparative analysis of the obtained results was carried out.Results. Women made up 71.9% of respondents, and men – 27.8%. Among the respondents, 74.8% have a higher medical education, 62.2% of respondents live in Kyiv, 11.9% in regional centers, and 23.8% in other cities of Ukraine. There were 26 respondents under the age of 39.9, 35 between the ages of 40 and 60, and 14 over 60. A total of 29% of respondents agreed that medical workers on average possess the skills of PE and PS, and 48% believe that MPs have a low level of these competencies; 98.7% noted the need for medical professionals to have psychological education, and 100% of respondents spoke in favor of the acquisition of PS skills by students of medical educational institutions. Regarding perceptions of health, 81.3% of respondents agreed that a patient's health consists of physical and mental components. Respondents point to the ignoring of the psychological component when teaching MP in 9.3% of cases, in 34.7% they believe that information about a person's psychological characteristics is provided only as additional information. Regarding the training of medical workers in the basics of PS – 90.7% of respondents note its necessity; 6.7% believe that this is the task of medical education institutions; 98% of respondents noted the need to prevent emotional exhaustion and professional burnout of medical workers.Conclusions. The results of the study showed that additional psychological skills and knowledge will contribute to the development of the practice of a holistic approach to the patient, where the medical worker will be able to more holistically and effectively assess and restore the health of a patient who suffered from military aggression and has symptoms of PTSD.
  • Study on medical professionals' attitudes and awareness of multidisciplinary rehabilitation in pain syndromes
Lidiia V. Butska, Hanna B. Varina, Leonid V. Bondar, Olena A. Mialovytska
Wiadomosci Lekarskie Warsaw Poland 1960, 2025
Aim: To assess the awareness and training needs of healthcare professionals regarding the multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients with pain syndromes and comorbid conditions resulting from war trauma. Materials and Methods: The structured online survey of 120 people, including doctors, nurses, medical assistants, paramedics and senior students of medical universities in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhya (Ukraine). Before that, a targeted review of international (WHO, NICE, EULAR) and national guidelines on multidisciplinary rehabilitation was conducted. Based on this regulatory framework, the authors developed the «Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation Attitude and Readiness Questionnaire». Results: Although 89% of respondents were familiar with the concept of multidisciplinary rehabilitation, only 17% demonstrated a comprehensive understanding. Most respondents (54%) reported only partial awareness and emphasized the need to improve teamwork skills and learn modern rehabilitation methods. Psychological support was recognized as essential by 58%, while 42% showed uncertainty or held misconceptions. Core rehabilitation components identified included pharmacological stabilization (65%), interdisciplinary collaboration (50%), and patient education (45%). However, elements such as empathy, active listening (25%), and social reintegration (15%) were undervalued. Only 23% of participants rated their competence in teamwork as sufficient, and nearly half (48%) assessed their preparedness as low. Priority areas for further education included trauma-informed care, psychological first aid, prevention of professional burnout, and the use of non-pharmacological methods such as electrotherapy and acupuncture. Conclusions: Despite formal awareness of multidisciplinary rehabilitation, significant gaps exist in practical competencies. Expanding interdisciplinary training and emphasizing psychosocial components are critical to improving care for war-affected patients.

OBJECTIVE Aim: To analyze and compare the experiences and perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) among practicing doctors and medical students. PATIENTS AND METHODS Materials and Methods: A survey was conducted among 30 doctors and 30 fifth-year master's students enrolled in the "Medicine" program. Participants were asked about their experiences with AI, their perceptions of AI's impact on their education and practice, and their views on the benefits and drawbacks of AI in the medical field. The data were analyzed to compare the responses between the two groups. RESULTS Results: Among the respondents, 8 doctors (26,67%) and 4 students (13,33%) had not used AI in their practice or studies. The analysis was conducted on the remaining 22 doctors and 26 students. The study found that students generally rated the effectiveness of AI higher than physicians did, particularly in areas such as enhancing work and educational experiences. Both groups used AI primarily for information retrieval, with students showing a slightly greater openness to expanding AI's role in education and practice. Despite recognizing the advantages of AI, both groups expressed concerns regarding its accuracy and reliability. CONCLUSION Conclusions: The study indicates that while AI, particularly ChatGPT, is increasingly being adopted in medical education and practice, there is still a level of caution and skepticism among both students and professionals. Further research is needed to optimize the integration of AI in medical curricula and address the ethical implications of its use.

The aim: The research is devoted to the analysis of theoretical and empirical determinants of formation of structural components of an active life position of modern elderly people. Materials and methods: Psychodiagnostic techniques were selected as tools for data collection. Experiment participants were people aged 65-72 years old (total number – 78 people). Data processing was done by means of the computer program SPSS 21.0. Results: The psychological features of the formation of elderly people’s active life position were determined by the fact that more than 50% of respondents had an average level of cognitive development, more than 60% demonstrated a low level of emotional-volitional component and more than 50% were at medium level of motivational-behavioural component. Most respondents’ high level of cognitive component development does not correlate with a high level of emotional-volitional component development. The leading role in the formation of elderly people’s active life position is played by the motivational-behavioural component. Conclusions: Based on the theoretical and empirical research of the issue of formation of elderly people’s active life position, three structural components of the phenomenon under study were identified: cognitive, emotional-volitional and motivational-behavioural. The results of the experiment suggest that most respondents had medium-low levels of active life position. The main determinant of the elderly people’s reduced vitality is their low level of emotional-volitional component development. The research outcomes allowed us to track the dependence of the level of active life position on the motivational-behavioral component.

Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021
Ways of development and modernization of modern higher education are largely determined by the scientific and technological progress. The article is devoted to the current issue of the augmented reality technology use in professional education. The paper analyzes foreign and domestic experience of the use of augmented reality technologies as a means educational, research and project activities implementation. The author also describes the benefits of the augmented reality technologies use for the curricula design. Taking into account the reorganization of the educational process due to pandemic isolation, caused by COVID-19, the issue of the identification of AR technologies impact on the development of cognitive component of future specialists’ mental capacity is becoming extremely relevant especially in the conditions of adaptive and blended learning. The paper, in a structured way, describes the experience of introducing the augmented reality elements in the process of developing cognitive component of future professionals’ mental capacity. The ascertaining and formative stages of the empirical research were carried out during 2020 on the basis of Bogdan Khmelnytsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University. Relevant interdisciplinary research is a logical construct of cooperation between leading scientists of the Department of Psychology and the Department of Informatics and Cybernetics of Bogdan Khmelnytsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University. The structure of the study includes the main scientific developments in the context of the research work, performed at the expense of the General Fund of the state budget: “Adaptive system for individualization and personalization of professional training of future specialists in blended learning”. Based on certain psychological and pedagogical determinants of the AR technologies use for the development of cognitive component of the future specialists’ mental capacity, we have proposed the implementation of interactive technologies at three levels: competence-oriented, structural-cognitive, emotional-reflexive, on the example of doing the course “Introduction to Specialty (Psychology)” in the conditions of distance learning. According to the results of an interdisciplinary research, it was found out that students gained skills which are necessary for their adaptation to a new intellectual and educational environment. Due to positive qualitative and quantitative changes in the cognitive structure of personality there was an increase in the first-year students’ mental capacity in its main components (the level of attention stability and selectivity, short-term memory span and analytical thinking, level of development of special qualities necessary for mental capacity, formation of mental capacity culture).
