Currently undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship in the Graduate Program in Health Sciences (PPGCS), focusing on research lines involving metabolic syndrome and muscle alterations associated with head and neck cancer, as well as sarcopenia in older adults. Additionally, serves as the technical manager of the In Vivo Experimental Imaging Multi-User Laboratory (LIEIV).
Holds a PhD in Health Sciences from the Graduate Program in Health Sciences (PPGCS) at the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes). Also holds a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from PPGCS and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis on Biotechnology, from Unimontes.
Conducts research projects in the bioprospecting of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants with hypoglycemic activity in diabetes mellitus (Type 1), metabolic syndrome, and antitumor activity in oral squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.
