Dr. Luis Geraldes-Primeiro is a biologist, university professor, and researcher specializing in aquatic biodiversity, panbiogeography, and the taxonomy of Neotropical microcrustaceans, particularly Amazonian Copepoda. He holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Aquatic Biology of the Amazon (INPA) and is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Aquatic Biodiversity at the Senckenberg Research Institute (Germany) in collaboration with the International Seabed Authority (ISA), working with integrative taxonomy of deep-sea copepods. As a faculty member at the State University of Roraima (UERR) and science teacher in the public education system, he coordinates scientific initiation projects funded by FAPERR, CNPq, and MCTI, with a focus on gender equity, scientific literacy, sustainability, and pedagogical innovation. He coordinates multiple educational projects funded by FAPERR, CNPq, and MCTI, with strong emphasis on gender equity, scientific literacy, sustainability, and hands-on learning.
