Effect of hla-dra gene rs8084 variant on development of hiv-1 infection and on expression of interferon-stimulating mx2, ifnm1, adar1 genes Zh. F. Kadirov, J. A. Rizaev, Sh. Kh. Ziyadullaev, A. A. Oslanov, D. B. Fayzullaeva, Z. S. Kamalov, G. A. Dushanova, Gulparshin K. Jiemuratova Russian Journal of Immunology, 2026 In the subjects infected with HIV, the influence of rs8084 polymorphism suggests that certain alleles may prolong the disease progression at an older age, thus allowing people with specific genotypes to maintain higher CD4 levels even if they are infected later in life. This may indicate a more effective activation of the immune response with age. The present study analyzed the distribution of HIV-1 patients by disease stages depending on age groups, as well as changes in CD4+ per cent levels, and the expression of the MX2, IFNM1, and ADAR1 genes in infected patients. A total of 143 patients diagnosed with HIV-1, aged 14 to 66 years, have been examined. The control group consisted of 67 practically healthy individuals aged 15 to 57 years, who were unrelated, had no clinical signs of HIV infection, and had no hereditary predisposition to the disease. The highest number of infections occurs at the third stage of the disease (symptomatic phase) among young individuals aged 14-35 years. At later stages of the disease, CD4% levels are significantly decreased, indicating the progression of immune deficiency. A correlation was also revealed between the HLA-DRA genotype and CD4% levels, highlighting the potential for a personalized approach to HIV treatment. Moreover, the study revealed a significantly increased expression of the MX2, IFNM1, and ADAR1 genes in HIV-infected patients, thus confirming activation of antiviral mechanisms in response to infection. The study demonstrated that HIV- 1 infection is associated with significant changes in the immune system, as evidenced by a decrease in CD4% levels and an increase in the expression of key antiviral genes such as MX2, IFNM1, and ADAR1. Given the role of genetic factors, such as HLA-DRA polymorphism, in disease progression, the importance of a personalized treatment approach is emphasized.
Variability of Dog Leukocyte Antigen in Russian-Bred Dogs International Journal of Veterinary Science, 2025 DLA (Dog Leukocyte Antigen), which serves as the canine counterpart to the human major histocompatibility complex (HLA), plays a pivotal role in immune response and represents a key marker of genetic diversity. This study presents the first comprehensive analysis of class II DLA gene polymorphism (DRB1, DQA1, DQB1) in four Russian dog breeds: the Samoyed, Siberian Husky, Black Russian Terrier, and Boxer.Molecular genetic methods revealed significant interbreed differences in allelic diversity.Notably, Samoyeds and Black Russian Terriers exhibited genetic conservation in DRB1 and DQA1, while maintaining pronounced polymorphism in DQB1.In contrast, Siberian Huskies and Boxers demonstrated substantial genetic homogeneity across all studied loci, except for DRB1 in Siberian Huskies. These findings characterize class II DLA genes as highly polymorphic, enabling a comparison of allele frequencies for DRB1, DQA1, and DQB1 among Russian-bred dogs.Analysis of DLA class II gene polymorphism (DRB1, DQA1, DQB1) provides the first step in characterizing existing breed diversity using Russian-bred Samoyeds, Siberian Huskies, Black Russian Terriers, and Boxers as models. The obtained data may facilitate the prediction of breed-specific predisposition to autoimmune diseases and carcinogenesis, taking into account known associations between specific haplotypes and particular diseases.
Study of Tritrichomonas foetus Representation in Cattle Population in Some Regions of Russia International Journal of Veterinary Science, 2025 Protozoal infection is an important factor in reducing the productivity of farm animals.Pathogenic protozoa are able to affect the gastrointestinal tract and reproductive system. The causative agent of protozoal infection causing abortion and infertility in cattle is most often Tritrichomonas foetus. In order to determine the epizootic situation in the region, we studied the representation of pathogenic trichomonads in cattle of the Novosibirsk region.Using specific primers, we detected traces of T. foetus DNA in samples obtained from adult animals with clinical signs of endometritis and vaginitis from different farms. Also, vaginal mucus samples from these animals were examined by direct light microscopy, where active trophozoites of T. foetus were found, indicating the circulation of the parasitic protozoan in the cattle population of the Novosibirsk region.
Effect of Unigel Plantum on Lettuce Quality Farida Aripova, Elena Goncharova, Valeriya Ryabinina, Valentina Korkina, Kirill Plotnikov, Anastasiya Korel, Gavhar Dushanova, Ekaterina Litvinova Food Processing Techniques and Technology, 2025 Greenhouse farming is an innovative model of agriculture that promotes sustainable production. Advanced greenhouse complexes use hydroponics, which makes it possible to grow vegetables and salads as far north as in Russia’s polar regions and on Sakhalin Island. To improve the yield and quality of lettuce, local farmers need an efficient mineral wool substrate and hydroponics. Biodegradable gels in combination with soil microorganisms are known to stabilize and prolong the effect of organic and mineral complexes. The research featured Aficion green lettuce grown hydroponically in a greenhouse. The control plants were grown in line with the industrial technology, which involved a four-fold weekly foliar treatment with a combination of Ecogel and Agrocen at 0.5 and 0.15%, respectively. The experimental samples were grown on substrate treated with Yunigel Plantum at 0.03 g per pot. The weight of lettuce leaves without roots was determined after cutting; their moisture content was determined after drying to a constant weight. The quality of leaf lettuce was assessed by the content of solids (State Standard GOST 31640-2012), crude protein (GOST 13496.4-2019), and amino acids (M 04-87-2009). The effect of Yunigel Plantum on quality and yield was evaluated by the ripening period, weight, root development, root hair development, moisture content, protein, and amino acids. The study also involved the effect of three different concentrations of humic and fulvic acids (Beres-8) to identify the optimal concentration.Yunigel Plantum_12 increased the yield and growth rate by 20%: as it boosted the root development, the experimental lettuce absorbed nutrients and became rich in essential amino acids. Yunigel Plantum can be recommended for greenhouse lettuce farming since it proved able to increase the yield and improve the nutr itional value of lettuce.
Diversity and ecological determinants of essential oil composition of Achillea millefolium from various geobotanical areas of Samarkand, Uzbekistan MOHIGUL ISTAMKULOVA, KHUDOYOR KELDIYAROV, A. G. Daminov, N.S. Mukhamadiev, GAVHAR DUSHANOVA, et al. Biodiversitas, 2025 Abstract. Istamkulova M, Keldiyarov K, Daminov A, Mukhamadiev N, Dushanova G, Khayitov D, Ruziev Y, Rayimqulov I, Jurayeva R, Norboyeva U. 2025. Diversity and ecological determinants of essential oil composition of Achillea millefolium from various geobotanical areas of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Biodiversitas 26: 3343-3355. Achillea millefolium is a well-known medicinal plant, widely distributed in Asia, Europe and North America. It is extensively used in traditional medicine and is valued for its broad spectrum of therapeutic properties. One of the key elements of its pharmacological value is its essential oil, which exhibits antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antioxidant, and other properties. This study explores the variation in the chemical composition of essential oils extracted from A. millefolium flowers collected in four distinct geobotanical areas of the Samarkand region, Uzbekistan: Amonkutan, Korabulok, Ilonsoy and Sazagan. Essential oils were obtained using the hydrodistillation method and their compositions were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results revealed significant qualitative and quantitative differences in essential oil compositions, primarily influenced by environmental factors. Essential oil variation reflects ecotypic local adaptation, highlighting its relevance for biodiversity and conservation efforts. These findings emphasize the influence of environmental factors such as altitude, precipitation, and soil pH on the chemotypic variability of A. millefolium. A total of 48 compounds were identified, with region-specific dominance: Ascaridole (20.43%) in Sazagan, Terpinolene (20.06%) in Amonkutan, m-Cymene (21.05%) in Korabulok, Camphor (2.86%) and 2-Carene (26.33%) in Ilonsoy. These constituents appear to play key roles in plant adaptation to local stress conditions. The identified relationships between environmental factors and the composition of plant essential oils enable the differentiation of chemotypes based on geographic characteristics and provide a basis for developing recommendations on optimal cultivation conditions, selective cultivation programs and standardization of raw materials for pharmacological applications.
Studying the proliferation activity of the plant Сaper (Capparis spinosa L.) Sevara Khalilova, Nataliya Feofanova, Gavkhar Dushanova, Svetlana Kan, Guljakhon Ashurova Plant Science Today, 2024 The article presents information on the methods and results of studying the influence of extracts prepared from various organs of the caper plant (Capparis spinosa L.), which in the Samarkand region exhibits the absence of proliferative activity of monocyte macrophages and mouse RAW 264.7. There are many scientific and research works devoted to the study of the medicinal properties of Capparis spinose L. cappers growing in Uzbekistan, as well as many works dedicated to identifying the molecular mechanisms of the immunomodulatory properties of the plant, which have not yet been studied. In medicine, consuming ripe fruits of C. spinosa L. has long been known to treat various diseases' inflammatory processes, including stomach inflammation and intestinal bleeding processes of haemorrhoids. The experiments show that concentrations of plant extracts at a concentration of 25.5 ?l have a destructive effect on all samples. A concentration of 1 ?l reduces the proliferative activity of cells of all plant extracts, except for seed extract; as a result, when exposed to 1 ?l of seed extraction, the population level was the highest. In cells stimulated with LPS, the level of proliferation was high at a concentration of 0.5 ?l of extracts of flowers, fruits and roots. Cytotoxicity was observed in extratax leaves, which may explain the antibacterial activity.
The role of VDR and TNF gene polymorphism in cytokine regulation in type I diabetes mellitus of the Uzbek population, Samarkand, Uzbekistan FARIZA RAYIMOVA, Gavhar Dushanova, Begali Alikulov, ZAYNITDIN KAMALOV, Malika R. Ruzibakieva, et al. Biodiversitas, 2024 Abstract. Rayimova F, Dushanova G, Alikulov B, Kamalov Z, Ruzibakieva M, Nabiyeva F, Rajabov A. 2024. The role of VDR and TNF gene polymorphism in cytokine regulation in type I diabetes mellitus of the Uzbek population, Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Biodiversitas 25: 1329-1336. After 2000, diabetes became one of the most common diseases in the world. Special attention is paid to the research to determine the variability of genetic processes in patients in the origin and development of this disease. The article is devoted to the study of the connection between the polymorphism of genotypes GG, GA, AA polymorphism BsmI of the VDR- (Vitamin D receptor) gene and GG, GA of the TNF-A-308G/A- (Tumor necrosis factor A) gene with the regulation of cytokines TNF? and IL6-Interleykin 6 in sick and healthy individuals of the Samarkand region of the Uzbek population. The analysis of the BsmI polymorphism of the VDR gene and TNF-A-308G/A indicates the involvement of certain genotypes in the Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) pathogenesis. The age of onset of the disease in the studied population is from 7 years, but the increase in the incidence of diseases begins from 10 years. Type 1 diabetes is more common in females. Studies of the relationship between the cytokines TNF? and IL6 show their high content depending on the genotypes GG, GA, and AA of the BsmIA polymorphism of the VDR gene and the genotypes GG and GA of the gene. TNF-A-308G/A. However, the highest rates were recorded in individuals with the AA genotype of the BsmI polymorphism of the VDR gene. The obtained results can serve as fundamental knowledge in revealing and explaining the mechanisms of cytokinin control in people with diabetes in different populations of the same nation.
