Contestation of the Determination of ‘Idul Adha and its Implementation According to Muhammadiyah and Nahdatul ‘Ulama Nailur Rahmi, Muh Rizki, Nurul Azniah Fajriati, Nurlaila Nurlaila, Faisal Efendi, Linda Sari Bulan Siregar Nurani, 2025 Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama differ in determining the date of Idul Adha, primarily due to the distinct methodologies they employ and the underlying factors contributing to the resulting controversy. The to understand and describe the contestation, methods of determining Eid al-Adha, as well as to analyze the causes of these differences. Uses data from various articles and information related to the determination of Eid al-Adha within the scope of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama. The collected data were analyzed and subsequently compared to generate well-founded conclusions. The research results, Muhammadiyah uses a calculation method with the criterion of wujudul hilal, while the Nahdlatul Ulama uses the Imkanur Rukyat method with the MABIMS criterion, which requires the hilal to be 3 degrees above the horizon. Prioritizes the rukyat method. The cause of this difference lies in the varying interpretations of the hadiths used as the basis for determining the beginning of the Islamic lunar month, which leads to differences in the criteria for the height of the hilal. Muhammadiyah understands the Lafadz “faqduruu lah” in the Hadith to be an order from Allah to calculate the beginning of the month by means of hisab.This is close to results that can provide certainty, because it is calculated by sophisticated methods and technology. Nahdatul ‘Ulama, the wording of the Hadith demands the determination of the beginning of the month in accordance with the rules that Allah has set, by observing the hilal, not by calculations that are purely human thinking. If the hilal is not visible, then the age of the month is 30 days. These methodological differences lead to variations in the observance of Idul Adha, disrupt uniformity in worship practices and the national calendar, and therefore require the Muslim community to exercise caution and wisdom in navigating and managing such differences.
DEVELOPMENTS OF MADRASA IN WESTERN SUMATRA: Analysis of Mahmud Yunus’ Contributions Afrianto Afrianto, Roni Pasaleron, Faisal Efendi Miqot Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Keislaman, 2024 <p>This study focuses on the contributions of Mahmud Yunus to developments of Madrasa education in Western Sumatra. This theme is important considering the pioneering position of Western Sumatra in modernization of Indonesian Islamic Education. This qualitative study relies mostly on library data but some references are also made to historical realities. Mahmus Yunus’s contribution to education was indeed very significant and included different aspect ranging from philosophical thought to practical examples. His thoughts on education was rooted in the Holy Book of Al-Qur’an—indeed he was one the very few Indonesian scholars who produces a complete interpretation of the Qur’an. In addition, he was also a practitioner with first-hand long experience in developing the Madsara system. As a matter of fact much of his thoughts have been adopted by Indonesian government in certain policies regarding madrasa, most notably in making Islamic Religious Education a compulsory subject.</p><p>Keywords: Mahmud Yunus, Islamic Education, madrasa, West Sumatra</p>
The Concept of Baligh Perspective of Fiqh and Positive Law Ibnu Amin, Lendrawati Lendrawati, Faisal Efendi, Hertasmaldi Hertasmaldi Al Istinbath Jurnal Hukum Islam, 2022 This paper aims to elaborate the concept of baliqh from the perspective of fiqh and Positive Law in Indonesia as the fuqaha's opinion about baligh and adult in Law no. 16 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Law No. 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage, Law No. 24 of 2013 concerning Population Administration and Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection. The research method used is a literature study by tracking, comparing and analyzing doctrinal normative law through a qualitative approach in content analysis about baligh and adulthood. The results of the research revealed that baligh in fiqh with the rusyd benchmark when referring to the signs of puberty, namely ihtilam (wet dreams for men), menstruation (for women), hair growth around the pubic and age ranges from 15 to 19 years. Whereas, in the Indonesian Positive Law, adults are classified based on interests, namely adults for marriage age limit of 19 years for men and women, adults to have population administration (KTP), driver's license and have political rights at the age of 17 years. To determine the limit of children, notary position and citizenship age 18 years while income tax, free from guardianship and recognized as labor at the age of 21 years. The determination of the limits of puberty and adulthood is included in the category of mashlahah 'ammah, namely the general benefit that concerns the interests of many people.
