Combined Acoustic Features with CNN-BiLSTM-Transformer for Female Emotion Recognition Dede Kurniadi, Erick Fernando, Syahrul Al Zayyan, Asri Mulyani Ingenierie Des Systemes D Information, 2025 Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) is essential for enhancing human-computer interaction by enabling machines to understand user emotional states. However, SER still faces challenges, such as the complexity of audio signals, individual differences, and limited focus on female voices, which often exhibit higher pitch and subtler emotional cues. This study introduces a hybrid model combining Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM), and Transformer to classify emotions in female speech. The model is trained using the RAVDESS, CREMA-D, and TESS datasets, with stepwise acoustic features: MFCC, ZCR, LPC, RMSE, and ZCPA.Data augmentation techniques are applied to address class imbalance and improve generalization, including the addition of additive noise and pitch shifting to simulate natural variations in female vocal pitch.Additionally, SMOTE is employed to generate synthetic samples for minority classes.Performance is evaluated using 5-fold cross-validation.Results show that the best performance is achieved using the MFCC + ZCR combination, with 88.52% accuracy, 88.80% precision, 88.52% recall, 88.53% F1-score, and 98.95% AUC-ROC.This research advances SER by developing a robust, context-aware model tailored to female vocal traits.
Improving Low-Light Face Recognition using DeepFace Embedding and Multi-Layer Perceptron Dede Kurniadi, Erick Fernando, Asyifa Fauziyah, Asri Mulyani Jurnal Resti, 2025 Facial recognition systems often struggle under extreme lighting conditions, which distort facial features and reduce recognition accuracy. This study introduces a novel integration of DeepFace embeddings with a lightweight Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) classifier tailored to improve facial recognition under extreme lighting conditions. This combination has not been explored in previous studies and offers a compact alternative to conventional CNN-based methods. The Labeled Faces in the Wild (LFW) dataset was augmented using rotation, flipping, and lighting variations, and further enhanced with CLAHE for improved contrast under poor illumination. The resulting 128-dimensional DeepFace embeddings were classified using a four-layer MLP with LeakyReLU activation, Batch Normalization, and Dropout. The model was evaluated across three data-splitting schemes (70:30, 80:20, and 90:10), with the 80:20 configuration achieving the highest accuracy of 95.16%. Compared to the baseline CNN, the proposed method demonstrated superior robustness to illumination variations. This makes the proposed model suitable for real-time applications such as biometric authentication and AI-based surveillance systems.
Business Analytic with Data Warehouse Design in Retail Company Sales Shanreva Oktavia Andi, Erick Fernando International Conference on New Media Studies Conmedia, 2025 Business analytics (BA) plays a vital role in maximizing the value of data warehouses by transforming vast amounts of structured data into actionable insights for decision-making. In a data warehouse environment, BA tools and techniques, such as statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning, are applied to uncover patterns and trends that can drive business strategy and operational improvements. BA is particularly effective when combined with OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) in a data warehouse, as OLAP enables data to be analyzed across multiple dimensions, such as time, location, and product categories. This multidimensional view allows for deep dives into data to gain specific insights—such as identifying high-performing products in specific regions or tracking sales trends over time. With BA, this data can be further analyzed to reveal customer behavior, forecast future sales, and develop targeted marketing campaigns, enhancing overall business intelligence. In this study, BA is applied to the OLAP-enabled data warehouse, facilitating three main types of analysis: overall sales trends, sales performance by region, and sales by brand. The resulting dashboards provide a comprehensive yet flexible view of business performance, empowering managers to drill down into specific areas for targeted insights or maintain a broader view for strategic planning.Ultimately, BA in a data warehouse context allows organizations to align data insights with business goals, supporting more accurate, data-driven decision-making. By leveraging these insights, companies can improve efficiency, optimize resources, and enhance competitiveness in the market.

Comparison of Classification Algorithms in Bamboo Distribution Mapping for Identification of Industrial Supporting Raw Materials Ionia Veritawati, Febri Maspiyanti, Riadika Mastra, Erick Fernando, Amir Murtako International Journal on Informatics Visualization, 2025 This study aims to address the challenges in the widespread supply of bamboo raw materials and the lack of coordination between bamboo-producing regions, as well as to conduct a comprehensive inventory and mapping of bamboo resources. In addition, this study also explores the factors that influence the distribution and growth characteristics of bamboo, such as soil type, altitude, and rainfall. The main problems faced in the bamboo industry are the uneven distribution of raw materials and the lack of coordination between regions, which hinder the development of a strong and sustainable bamboo industry value chain. The lack of in-depth information on the ecological factors that influence bamboo growth also exacerbates this situation. The method used in this study involves mapping bamboo potential through aerial photography data collection, which is then analyzed using machine learning technology. The three algorithms used in the classification process are K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest. The study was conducted in an area rich in bamboo vegetation, especially Bojongmangu District in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia. From the analysis results, the SVM algorithm showed the best performance with a classification accuracy ranging from 80% to 90%. These results indicate that this method is very effective in mapping bamboo vegetation areas with high precision. This study also identified other variables, such as soil type and altitude, that play a role in bamboo distribution. With this more holistic approach, the study is expected to provide deeper insights into bamboo ecology and improve sustainable bamboo resource management.
