Ismu Sukamto, Yulia Ayriza, Hiryanto, Rahmah Kumullah, Murjainah, Priska Efriani Luansi Ero, Septiyati Purwandari, Ranak Lince, Dina Maulina
Social Sciences and Humanities Open, 2026
In the contemporary educational landscape, academic burnout (exhaustion, inadequacy, and cynicism) has emerged as an urgent psychological and educational issue that threatens various educational outcomes and academic adjustment. Understanding the risk and protective factors of burnout is also essential for developing effective strategies and more targeted interventions to prevent psychological exhaustion and promote well-being, particularly in academic and professional settings. The systematic literature review aims to synthesize the key risk and protective factors associated with burnout, drawing on evidence from diverse populations and contexts. Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic search of databases was conducted up to July 2025 and identified a total of 1744 citations of which 50 studies were included in the qualitative analysis. The review identifies a range of interrelated risk factors—spanning academic, psychological, personal, social, and structural domains—highlighting that academic burnout among students is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Thus, protection against burnout requires a holistic approach that includes strengthening individual character, strong social support, developing adaptive learning and coping strategies, and providing a healthy academic environment. This review seeks to inform the design of targeted interventions and guide policymakers, educators, and institutional stakeholders in mitigating burnout and fostering resilience.
• Foundation for the Development of a Digital Game-Assisted Problem-Based Learning Model for Mechanics Physics: A Student Needs Analysis Study
Rohmani Rohmani, I Wayan Distrik, Herpratiwi Herpratiwi, Dina Maulina
Journal of Education and Training Studies, 2026
Physics learning, particularly abstract Mechanics concepts, often poses significant challenges for students. This preliminary research aims to identify specific challenges and student needs as a robust empirical foundation for the development of an innovative learning model. The study adopted a quantitative descriptive survey method, utilizing a validated structured questionnaire. Participants were 170 eleventh-grade students from two reference state high schools in North Lampung, Indonesia. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Perceptual survey results indicated that the topic "Motion on an Inclined Plane" (M=3.58) was perceived as the most difficult, with the main hindering factors being "concepts are too abstract" (62.0%) and "too many formulas to memorize" (56.0%). Conversely, students showed very high interest in educational games (M=4.78) and interactive simulations (M=4.54). A nuanced gender analysis revealed that male students tended to show slightly higher interest and self-confidence in technology, while female students reported a greater appreciation for collaborative learning. Collectively, these findings conclude a strong student demand for the adoption of more visual and interactive learning methods. This provides a compelling pedagogical and empirical justification for the development of a Digital Game-Assisted Problem-Based Learning Model (PBL-GD). The implementation of this model must therefore consider an inclusive design to bridge the expectations and learning needs of all students, including gender-specific preferences.
• Creative Thinking Skills in Science Education: A PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review
Laila Puspita, Abdurrahman Abdurrahman, Tri Jalmo, Dina Maulina, Komarudin Komarudin, Suherman Suherman, Nurrana Fitria Luthfi
Online Learning in Educational Research, 2025
Creative thinking skills are widely discussed in science education research, yet their conceptualization, pedagogical treatment, and measurement still show methodological diversity. This study systematically synthesizes recent studies on creative thinking skills in science education, focusing on learning strategies, learning media, and assessment instruments. A systematic literature review (SLR) using the PRISMA framework was conducted on 23 Scopus-indexed publications from 2019–2022. The results indicate that most studies position creative thinking skills as a learning outcome embedded in instructional innovation rather than as an independent construct. STEM-oriented learning, technology-assisted learning, problem-based learning, and inquiry-based learning are the most frequently explored contexts. However, the literature is dominated by qualitative and descriptive research, with limited comparative or experimental evidence. Variation in definitions and measurements also persists, often overlapping with related constructs such as critical thinking. Overall, this review reveals rich pedagogical innovation but limited methodological consistency and analytical rigor. The findings highlight the need for clearer construct boundaries, more robust research designs, and better alignment between learning strategies and validated instruments. This review contributes to mapping research patterns and identifying gaps for future empirical studies in creative thinking skills in science education

Agrivita, 2025

Synthetic insect repellent contributed to increasing farm products. This research studies the influence of an extract of Mirabilis jalapa. It is a vegetative insect repellent. It was applied to the polyphagous pest's cellular and humoral immune reactions, Spodoptera litura. This study targeted the body's resistant reaction to S. litura at the cellular and humoral tiers after contacting biopesticides from M. jalapa extracts. This research examined the process of cellular counteraction by assessing the varieties of hemocytes employing the ANOVA test and a phagocytosis test using percentages. The function of the humoral-resistant counteraction was assessed by phenoloxidase analysis employing the ANOVA test. The results demonstrated that a 0.2% M. jalapa concentrate solution noticeably affected the numbers of prohemocytes, granular cells, oenocytoid cells, and spherules compared to reference samples (p<0.05). Moreover, sub-lethal levels show noticeable kinds in PO enzyme levels (p<0.05), with a notable improvement after one hour of handling. Phagocytosis, on the other hand, demonstrated a drop in the ratio of phagocytic cells at 0.4% dose concentrations contrasted to the control group, suggesting a hidden impact on the pest's resistant response. This research reveals that the ability of M. jalapa extract as a biopesticide with immunosuppressive effects on S. litura.

• Connectivism and digital age education: Insights, challenges, and future directions
Kasetsart Journal of Social Sciences, 2024
This paper presents a research study that delves into the learning theory of connectivism as a predominant learning paradigm in the digital era.Since its inception by George Siemens and Stephen Downes, connectivism has profoundly influenced learning and teaching methodologies, especially in the realms of online education and lifelong learning. For this research, the researchers employed a systematic literature review as their primary data analysis unit, meticulously collecting and analyzing various scholarly articles and sources that discuss the theoretical underpinnings, real-world applications, challenges, and advantages of connectivism. Our method involved a structured search of databases, selection criteria based on relevance and credibility, and thematic analysis of the collected literature.Through rigorous data analysis methods, the review findings unequivocally indicate that connectivism, notwithstanding its critiques, offers a solid framework for comprehending how individuals acquire knowledge in digital milieus and interconnected social platforms. This research result showcases case studies that elucidate how connectivism has been effectively implemented across diverse educational tiers, spanning from elementary to tertiary levels. While challenges such as the digital divide and an over-reliance on self-directed learning might impede its full potential, connectivism undeniably presents substantial prospects in championing autonomous, synergistic, and network-centric learning.Furthermore, we explore the potential trajectories of how connectivism might adapt and metamorphose in tandem with technological progressions and paradigm shifts in education. The overarching conclusion derived from this research underscores that connectivism holds immense promise as a pivotal component in architecting inclusive and adaptive learning ecosystems for the foreseeable future.

Journal of Education and Learning, 2024
Higher education institutions have come under fire for their perceived restrictive tactics and lack of diversity among students and faculty. This article dives into the possible synergy between anthropology and critical consciousness, drawing inspiration from Paulo Freire's seminal contributions. The major goal is to create a revolutionary transition in higher education toward a more inclusive educational paradigm. Furthermore, this study investigates the influence of political landscapes on educational curriculum, emphasizing the need for a revolutionary pedagogical framework that fosters critical consciousness in both students and instructors. The prospect of developing a more equitable and inclusive learning environment within higher education becomes reachable via the harmonic integration of different pedagogical techniques, one that is sensitive to the diverse requirements of all learners. This attempt, however, is not without difficulties, such as opposition to change and the political terrain's intricacies. Professional development opportunities and coordinated efforts between educators, administrators, and policymakers are required for successful implementation. To summarize, the priority of social responsibility in higher education is evident, and adopting transformational pedagogy is critical for tackling the multiple issues inherent in the twenty-first century.
