Practices and attitudes in the use of digital tools in the writing process among Peruvian university students of business administration Dennis Arias-Chávez, Luis Miguel Cangalaya Sevillano, Julio E. Postigo-Zumarán, Juan Alfredo Palaco-Vásquez Formacion Universitaria, 2025 <p>This study describes the practices and attitudes of 350 business administration students from three universities from Lima (Peru), regarding the use of digital tools in the writing process. Using a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach, a single questionnaire is administered that addressed the use of digital tools, academic performance, and plagiarism detection, which are analyzed using the statistical software Jamovi. The results show that 63.7% of the students use tools for paraphrasing and 33.7% for drafting complete essays. Detection by instructors is low (35.1% for paraphrasing and 22% for essays), highlighting a significant gap in technological knowledge. Additionally, 74.6%of students are aware of a peer using these tools for paraphrasing and 56.3% for complete essays. In conclusion, attitudes toward the use of digital tools are ambivalent, with many students neither agreeing nor disagreeing, reflecting uncertainty about their academic and ethical impact.</p>

Global scientific contribution on monkeypox Dulio Oseda Gago, Julio Efraín Postigo Zumarán, Sonia Gladys Gutiérrez Monzón, Humberto Denny Altuna Sotomayor Boletin De Malariologia Y Salud Ambiental, 2022 El presente estudio presenta un alcance descriptivo y de carácter retrospectivo, tomando como unidad de estudio a la producción científica mundial generada sobre viruela símica en el período comprendido desde el año 1959 hasta el mes de julio del año 2022. Se obtuvo un total de 667 documentos de la base de datos Scopus, 667 de Web of Science, 677 de Pubmed y 1000 de Lens, extraídos de 266, 174, 235 y 401 fuentes respectivamente; se observa un importante incremento en la producción ocurrida en el año 2022 en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science, Pubmed y Lens, motivada por el brote mundial, inusual y preocupante, de la enfermedad y el surgimiento de variantes del virus original. Estos picos de crecimiento se originaron cada vez que surgieron brotes de esta enfermedad en diversos lugares del mundo, sin embargo, no existe ningún brote previo con la actual presencia de casos, ni tal cantidad de publicaciones como las generadas hasta julio del 2022, considerando que el brote se inició en mayo del mismo año, pronosticándose una producción creciente y sostenida hasta que el brote sea controlado.

Scientific production on academic plagiarism in Spanish journals: analysis over the period 2003-2019 Dennis Arias Chávez, Julio E. Postigo Zumarán, Klinge Orlando Villalba Condori, Teresa Ramos Quispe International Journal of Enterprise Network Management, 2021 This study aims to characterise, through bibliometric indicators, the scientific production on academic plagiarism in universities in Spanish journals between 2003-2019. Using academic Google as a database, bibliometric indicators were calculated by using the software Publish or Perish v. 7.10 and 996 results were obtained, of which 155 articles were finally selected. From the analysis carried out, it is observed that of a total of 905 citations, the average is 181.00; 5.84 and 457.37 citations per year, articles and authors respectively. The publications have an h-index of 16 and a g-index of 19. In addition, the largest number of author's works individually (106 articles). The selected 155 articles were written by 411 authors, generating a collaboration index of 2.65. Also, the SciELO Electronic Library, in several of its variants, is the database that, with 29 results, houses the largest number of scientific publications on academic plagiarism in universities.
Global Scientific Output on Medical Education during the COVID-19 Pandemic Julio E Postigo-Zumarán, Michael Lincold Trujillo Pajuelo, William Eduardo Mory Chiparra, Freddy Antonio Ochoa Tataje, Dennis Arias-Chávez International Journal of Early Childhood Special Education, 2021 The objective of the present study is to characterize the global scientific production on medical education during the COVID-19 pandemic in seven scientific databases from January 2020 to April 2021. We worked with a universe of 248 articles of which bibliometric indicators were analyzed using Publish or Perish software v. 7.19 and the same analytical software for the chosen databases. The results indicate an average of 39.5 citations. 27.95, 0.87 and 17.90 citations per year, citations per article and citations per author respectively. Among the most cited articles in the Scopus and Microsoft academic databases, Maintaining High-Quality Multidisciplinary Scholarship Programs in Pain Medicine stands out: Part I: Innovations in Education, Research, Candidate Selection Process, Wellness, and Implementation from ACGME during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article is also the second most cited article in the Web of Science database. These results show that the production of scientific articles on educational medicine in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic has not had a significant development.
World scientific production on the vaccine against COVID-19: Analysis of the period 2020-2021 Dennis Arias-Chávez, Julio E. Postigo-Zumarán, Juan Carlos Chumacero Calle, Jéssica Paola Palacios Garay, Yolvi Ocaña-Fernández, et al. Archivos Venezolanos De Farmacologia Y Terapeutica, 2021 <strong>Objetivo</strong>. Caracterizar la producción científica mundial sobre la vacuna para combatir el Covid-19 en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science, Google Académico, PubMed, Microsoft Academic y Crosreff entre los meses de enero de 2020 a abril de 2021. <strong>Material y métodos. </strong>Se trabajó con un universo constituido por 3817 artículos obtenidos. Se calcularon los indicadores bibliométricos a través del <em>software</em> Publish or Perish v. 7.31, VOSwiever, Pubreminer, Dimensions y de los mismos softwares analíticos de las bases de datos elegidas. <strong>Resultados.</strong> Los resultados indican un total de 30619 citas, con un promedio de 5103; 11 y 2251 citas por año, citas por artículo y citas por autor respectivamente. Las publicaciones en promedio poseen un índice h de 26.00, un índice g de 42.00 y un índice e de 33.59. De entre los artículos más citados destaca el de Prompetchara, Kettoy y Palaga, (2020); de entre las revistas con mayor producción sobre el tema destaca la British Medical Journal – BMJ; el país con mayor producción sobre vacunas es EEUU; y el tipo de producción científica que más destaca son los artículos originales. <strong>Conclusiones</strong>. Estos resultados evidencian que la producción de artículos científicos sobre la vacuna para combatir el Covid-19 ha experimentado un crecimiento significativo lo que demuestra el enorme esfuerzo científico realizado a nivel mundial para controlar esta enfermedad.
World scientific production on covid-19: Analysis of the period February-march, 2020 Dennis Arias-Chávez, Teresa Ramos-Quispe, Klinge Orlando Villalba‐Condori, Julio E. Postigo-Zumarán Journal of Critical Reviews, 2020 The objective of the study is to characterize, using bibliometric indicators, the world scientific production on COVID-19 in the field of scientific publications in all languages between the months of February and March of the year 2020. A descriptive-retrospective bibliometric study was carried out, covering the world’s first scientific papers on the COVID-19. Using the Google Academic database, the bibliometric indicators were calculated using the Publish or Perish Software v. 7.19, filtering 1000 results, which yielded a total of 1822 citations, 1.82 and 700.09 citations per article and citations by author respectively. The publications have an h index of 17, a g index of 31 and an e index of 22.05. Finally, the AW index was 42.67 and the AWCR was 84.26. The 3610 authors of the articles analyzed work mostly individually (27.30%), which generates a collaboration index of 3.61. The databases Medrixiv, org and The Lancet stand out, the latter being the most important journal. These results show that the scientific production related to the worldwide COVID-19 is in a constant and dizzying growth.
