  • Benchmarking the effect of CSR activities for sustainable livelihood
    Brundaban Panda, Rinki Mishra
International Journal of Process Management and Benchmarking, 2025
The present study examines and benchmarks the effect of the CSR initiatives towards capacity building and sustainable livelihood from the developing nation perspective. SEM analysis was applied to validate the hypothesised model using 478 responses drawn from survey participants in the selected regions of NALCO, Damanjodi, Odisha. In this regard, the findings reveal a positive and significant link between all the study constructs that render affirmation to the research model. The results and findings were compared with prior studies in a similar domain which provides a strong justification to place the novel contribution of this study in extending the domain knowledge. Also, the findings provide insights to managers and govt. policymakers to devise strategies for the effective implementation of CSR initiatives and schemes for long-term welfare and regional development.
  • Human-AI Collaboration in HR: Enhancing Decision-Making Without Replacing Human Judgment
    Tara Prasad Padhy, Brundaban Panda
2025 IEEE 5th International Conference on ICT in Business Industry and Government Ictbig 2025, 2025
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Human Resources Management (HR) is transforming decision-making processes, particularly in Recruitment, performance evaluation, and talent development. However, concerns persist in relation to the potential displacement of human judgment and the ethical implications of excessive dependence on automated systems. This article investigates a collaborative approach where AI acts as an enhanced tool, not as a substitute for HR professionals. We explore the decision support systems fueled by machine learning and natural language processing that help in data-oriented information, preserving human supervision. Through qualitative interviews, an analysis is done on how humans experience an event and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{A I}$</tex> arrive at a result so that the two can be synchronized in order to improve justice, consistency, and efficiency in HR decisions. The industry case studies give general illustrations of hybrid models that exploit AI analytical power together with human empathy, ethical reasoning, and contextual understanding. The findings argue for a middle ground, which will foster greater confidence, transparency, and responsible use of AI in humancentred domains such as HR.
  • Comparative analysis of CSR initiatives and service delivery in selected PSUs of India
    Brundaban Panda, Rinki Mishra
International Journal of Services and Operations Management, 2025
The concept of 'corporate social responsibility' has advanced into a significant portion of business interaction. Globalisation seems to have delivered contests among organisations to act as per worldwide exchange practices. In today's environment, numerous public organisations donate a percentage of their profits to the environment as well as social growth. The government's shifting regulations, as well as reports, have always had an impact on CSR in India. The topic of this research study is the status of significant firms in Odisha in terms of corporate social responsibility business operations and service delivery. The goal of this study is to see how CSR and related services are integrated into the corporate structure of the PSUs under consideration. The regulations made by PSUs in relation to social sustainable development as well as environmental challenges are also discussed in this research article.
  • Productivity of local communities for sustainable livelihood
    Brundaban Panda, Rinki Mishra
International Journal of Productivity and Quality Management, 2024
This study examines the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in India's mining sector with a specific emphasis on National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO). Specifically, the effect of governance and implementation factors is evaluated in connection with CSR activities. In addition, the study investigates the positive link between CSR activities and sustainable livelihood of local communities. Based on regression analysis, the finding suggests positive and significant effects between the model constructs. These findings provide in-depth insights regarding the nature and implementation of CSR at the ground-level for upliftment and productivity of the local communities and groups. Drawing cues from the empirical findings, the academicians, organisational decision-makers, and policy-developers can formulate targeted CSR strategies and initiatives to improve the living standards of the communities residing in the mining regions.
