  • Neuroqueering sexuality: Learning from the life-writings of queer neurodivergent women

    The mainstream notions of gender and sexuality among neurodivergent individuals lack wisdom and input from those who have the lived experience of the same. Queer phenomenology (2008) proposed by Sarah Ahmed, offers an interpretative framework to understand neurodivergent life by moving beyond the definitions of sexuality as a set of constructed identity formations aligned to normative gender and reproductive practices. Queer phenomenology along with a feminist phenomenological lens can be employed to analyze the narratives of queer neurodivergent women to see how they access and experience their sexualities. In this way, the present paper argues that queer neurodivergent women “neuroqueer” (a term developed by Yergeau) sexuality by actively subverting and disrupting compulsory heterosexual norms.
  • “Gender Differences in Autism”: TED Talks as Inclusive Spaces for Co-creation of Collective Memories

    Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has been historically studied, identified, and diagnosed more in males than females which can be attributed to a range of factors other than biological. The preponderance of males with autism is often associated with the Extreme Male Brain (EMB) theory which contends that this male bias is interceded by the amplification of male-biased sex differences in the expression of autism-associated traits found in typical populations. This long-held notion of attaching autism to the male gender had severely impacted the females on the spectrum leading to late diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and “masking” in order to blend in. Media also played a role in the near-exclusive portrayal of autistic people as white males which is outrageously unrepresentative of reality. The present paper analyses the narratives of self-identified autistic women about their experiences shared through TED Talks which offer both individual and collective counter-narratives to articulate new understandings. The paper attempts a qualitative interpretation of 5 such talks to demonstrate how speaking about these narratives in public and influential spaces like TED Talks de-constructs collective memories (process) and constitutes constructing La Memoire Collective between the knowledge of experience and shared memories.
  • Text-to-Image Synthesis using stackGAN

    In text-to-image conversion, it can be challenging to produce visuals of a high caliber from written descriptions. Examples created using traditional text to image approaches can usually convey the meaning of the descriptions given, but they are deficient in important details and vibrant object aspects. The creation of photo-realistic graphics from text has several applications, including photo editing, computer-aided design, gaming, virtual reality, and medical imaging. This project suggests using StackGANs, or stacked generative adversarial networks, to create accurate images depending on the text given. There are two phases to StackGAN. Stage-I GAN generates low-resolution representations of the object by sketching its basic form and colors from the text provided. The Stage-II GAN uses text descriptions and Stage-I discoveries as inputs to create high-resolution images with lifelike qualities.

    This work intends to create a model that will be used to clean rivers. The designed model can effectively clean the solid waste that is floating in the river. The main societal purpose of this system is to clean rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. When rivers needed to be cleaned manually, people would board boats and dump their waste near the river’s edge. Nevertheless, these methods are costly, time-consuming, and hazardous to people. A river cleaning system that uses Bluetooth has been created with the aforementioned requirements in mind to eliminate the drawbacks listed above. The main objective of the project is to decrease the time and labour required for the machine to clean the river, hence increasing its effectiveness. In this suggested job, we were able to remotely control the river cleaning process with the help of Bluetooth and a motor.

    The intent of customer segmentation is primarily to aid institutions to custom-make their marketing techniques and methods to suit the specific requirements of every consumer group. As this helps to solve the segregating of the groups of customers for banks efficiently and helps provide more custom-made services for customers of each group better, applying the customer segmentation for banking data can provide many insights that can be beneficial to banks as well as their customers. This increases the effectiveness of customer interaction and can maximize selling opportunities. It makes marketers more efficient in terms of time, money, and other resources.
