Biography
Somnath Nandi is a JRF at CSIR-CMERI in India, as well as a Ph.D. student at AcSIR in India. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Govt. College of Engineering and Textile Technology, berhampore (MAKAUT), West Bengal, India, in 2019, and a Master of Engineering in Production Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, in 2023. He is presently working in the area of hydrogen fuel cell development projects using Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) at CSIR-CMERI Durgapur and pursuing his PhD in the area of tribological behaviour of additively manufactured SS-W-Ni functionally graded material. He is proficient in metal additive manufacturing, wear analysis, decision science, optimisation techniques, as well as material characterisation techniques. He is particularly interested in the various types of intermetallic characteristics, functionally graded materials, metaheuristic optimisation algorithms, machine learning, and metal additive manufacturing methods.
