Biography
Rewbenio Araújo Frota is a Reservoir Evaluation Engineer at PETROBRAS. Rewbenio holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-Rio (2025), with a concentration in Computational Intelligence. He has published articles in journals and conference proceedings, all dealing with machine learning methods and applications, including self-organizing systems, fuzzy logic, and deep learning. His current professional and scientific interests include formation evaluation, well test analysis, formation damage, and reservoir characterization. In the area of machine learning, his interests include fuzzy logic, deep learning, generative models, representation learning, regenerative learning, self-organizing maps, feature engineering, artificial neural networks, error detection, novelty detection, outlier detection, and data mining applied to the petroleum industry.
Education
Rewbenio holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (2003) and an M.Eng. in Teleinformatics Engineering from the Federal University of Ceará (2005), a post graduate specialization in Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (2006), and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, PUC-Rio (2025), with a concentration in Computational Intelligence.
