Biography

Amanda Desirée Ortiz-Alvarez is an Indigenous Puerto Rican, Autistic ADHD (AuDHD) & multilingual speech-language therapist & PhD student at UT Austin. Her interests include (but are certainly not limited to): facilitators of adaptive change/fulfillment of access needs in stuttering therapy, disability education & advocacy, intersectionality, lived experiences, counseling and (more generally) inclusive, strengths-based & human-centered approaches to teaching/therapy/research!
