Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat
Professor · Sher e Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Kshmir
Biography
Biography I completed my postgraduate studies in 2002 and obtained my doctoral degree in 2007 from one of India’s premier agricultural institutions, the Allahabad Agricultural Institute (AAI), Allahabad, India. In 2007, I was appointed as Assistant Professor at SKUAST–Kashmir, where I have since been actively engaged in teaching, research, and extension. My academic and research pursuits are firmly rooted in temperate fruit pathology, with a strong emphasis on apple diseases of the Kashmir Valley. I have undertaken comprehensive field-based evaluations of synthetic antifungal compounds against major foliar fungal diseases of apple and other horticultural crops under temperate agro-ecological conditions. My research has also focused on fungicide degradation kinetics, epidemiological modelling, and elucidation of resistance mechanisms in plant pathogenic fungi.
