Research Interests
I hold a degree in Oceanology from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), as well as a PhD and a Master's degree in Remote Sensing from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). I am currently a professor of remote sensing in the department of...
Biography
Coordinator of the Mesoescale Ocean-Atmosphere Network Research Group (CNPq), my academic/professional profile is focused on studies and applications of remote sensing and numerical modeling of oceans and coastal areas. I have expertise in numerical modeling and environmental studies of ocean-atmosphere interaction in the South Atlantic Ocean. In my postdoctoral studies, I studied the impact of synoptic events on the dynamics of the Southern Brazilian Continental Shelf and the southwestern Atlantic Ocean through coupled ocean-atmosphere numerical modeling and remote sensing. I have two technical degrees in electromechanics and systems instrumentation, with experience in programming languages and remote sensing data processing.
Education
I hold a degree in Oceanology from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) and a PhD and Master's degree in Remote Sensing from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). I am currently a professor of Remote Sensing in the Department of Oceanography at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). I am a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Petroleum and Environmental Geochemistry (POSPETRO) and the Graduate Program in Geophysics (PPGEOFISICA) at the Federal University of Bahia.
