Biography

Dr. Koneru Swapna is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (KLEF), Andhra Pradesh, India, where she has served since 2009. With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, she holds a Ph.D. from KLEF and an M.Sc. from Nagarjuna University. Dr. Swapna has received multiple accolades, including the Best Woman Scientist Award (DST-WOS-A, 2012), Best Researcher Award (Novel Research Academy, 2022), two Best Teacher Awards, and the DST-SERB Early Career Research Award (2016–2019). She has guided four Ph.D. scholars and is currently mentoring two more. She completed two DST-sponsored projects (₹22.7L and ₹42.2L) and is Co-PI for an ongoing CRG project (₹30L). Her research focuses on optical glasses and phosphors for photonic applications.
