Biography

Fernando holds a Ph.D. in Soil and Plant Nutrition from the "Luiz de Queiroz" College of Agriculture (ESALQ), University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil), including a training period at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). He obtained a Masters degree in Soil Science (2004) and a Bachelors degree in Agronomy (2002), both from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM, Brazil). In 2022, he carried out postdoctoral training at ESALQ/USP. He has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis on Soil Genesis and Classification, estuarine soils (mangroves and salt marshes), and Soil Physics. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Soil Science at UFSM (2004) and in the Department of Rural Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) in the first semester of 2009. From July 2009 to December 2011, he served as a Professor in the Agronomy and Animal Science programs at UFSC, teaching Soil Genesis and Classification. Currently, he is a Full Profess
