Biography
Eren Alkan earned his BA and MA degrees in the department of American Culture and Literature, Ege University. He earned his Ph.D. in the department of American Culture and Literature at Ege University and his second Ph.D. research (with cum laude) in the Department of Humanistic Studies at Universitat Rovira i Virgili. He has been working as an English instructor and took several positions such as Vice Director of SFL, Vice Head of Foreign Languages Department, Head of English Unit, Curriculum Unit Coordinator, Accreditation Unit Coordinator, among others. Now, he is teaching in the Department of Sociology at Ege University. Among his interests are eco-criticism and sociology of environment, comparative intellectual and literary history, women’s rights, sociology of literature and political sociology, curriculum design, and Western literature.
