Biography
She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism and Heritage and a permanent professor of the Graduate Program in Ecotourism and Conservation at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). She coordinates the research group Observatory of Partnerships in Protected Areas (OPAP) and collaborates in research groups and international networks. She is part of the team of Scientific Editors of the Caderno Virtual de Turismo. She develops research, teaching, and extension projects, with experience in the area of Tourism, with an emphasis on socioeconomic and environmental aspects, working mainly on the following themes: partnerships in protected areas, tourism in protected areas, community-based tourism, environmental education, environmental conflicts, management and operation of tourism services, heritage.
Education
She holds a postdoctoral degree from the Graduate Program in Social Change at the University of São Paulo, focusing on the theme of Public-Community Partnerships in Protected Areas, and a PhD in Sciences in the research line of Social Initiatives Management from the Graduate Program in Production Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ. She has a master's degree in the research line "Communities, Development, Environment and Social Inclusion" from the Eicos Program - Interdisciplinary Studies of Community Psychosociology and Social Ecology, at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
