Biography
Head of the simple unit (UOS) "Integrated Treatments for Advanced Peritoneal Carcinosis" in the Peritoneal Surgery Unit at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A.Gemelli-IRCSS. Adjunct Professor in the Degree Programs of Medicine and Surgery both in Italian and English languages at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome. Promoter and responsible for multicentric Italian research studies. Local Principal Investigator for international multicentric research studies. He focuses his attention on research and treatment of peritoneal carcinosis. He developed an intense collaboration with Italian and foreign centers specialized in this field. He executed more than 400 surgical cytoreductionand HIPEC for cancers with gastrointestinal and ovaric origins.He executed more than 180 PIPAC (Pressurized intraperitoneal aereosol chemotherapy) for gastrointestinal carcinosis.
Education
Member of the ESSO (European Society of Surgical Oncology) Educational Committee for Peritoneal Surface Malignancy from January 2022 for two years.. He attended the European School of Peritoneal Surface Malignancy (ESPSO), with a duration of 2 years( 2017-2019) He trained at Istituto Tumori di Milano (Prof. M. Deraco), and Centre Hospitalier Lyon Sud, France (Prof. O. Glehen). In June 2017 he obtained the International qualification for PIPAC (Pressurized intraperitoneal aereosol chemotherapy) for unresectable carcinosis at the Odense PIPAC Center, Denmark.
