Biography
José Rildo Reis da Silva is a Ph.D. candidate and CAPES Scholar in Translation Studies at the Federal University of Ceará (POET-UFC). His research integrates Didactic Audiovisual Translation (DAT), Audio Description (AD), and Game-Based Learning to enhance English language acquisition. He holds an M.A. in Translation Studies and multiple degrees in Letters (English/Portuguese/Spanish) and Computer Science. A recipient of the Fulbright Distinguished Award for International Teachers (2020), he has completed advanced training at University College London (UCL), Syracuse University, and the University of Kansas. He is a member of the LEAD (Subtitling and Audio Description) and GETRA (Accessible Audiovisual Translation) research groups.His professional expertise spans educational management, teacher training, and accessible media translation (dubbing and AD). His work focuses on the intersection of Applied Linguistics, Educational Technology, and Audiovisual Accessibility.
